Patternflux is a field notebook of sorts. A place for reflections, experiments, unfinished thoughts, and updates from whatever creative corner I happen to be wandering through.

Some days that means music, field recordings, and visual work. Other days it’s thoughts about creative practice, cycling, technology, photography, place, or whatever has been rattling around in my head long enough to deserve a page.

Lately, much of the gravity here bends toward Particle Bunni and Discoastal. Particle Bunni is an ambient-electronic collaboration between my friend Terry and me, built from synthesizers, guitar, texture, voice, found sound, and strange ideas. Discoastal is the larger creative orbit around that work, a space for music, art, culture, experimentation, and the kinds of conversations the internet used to make more room for.

I grew up around people making things. My mom ran a community theater. My dad was a working sculptor. Somewhere along the way I spent years racing bicycles, lived in Europe for a while, studied art and design, fell in love with photography, and eventually found myself spending the better part of two decades working in product design and creative leadership in tech.

Patternflux exists outside of it.

This space is less about expertise and more about following curiosity. Making things. Sharing the process. Seeing what happens when you keep putting one foot in front of the other.

And occasionally posting pictures of cats.
