Particle Bunni and Discoastal Updates

What We Have Been Building

I do not really look at the analytics for this site. Maybe I will someday, but maybe I won’t because, honestly, I do not really care.

I write and share things here because I want to and, in many ways, because I need to. I also want a place to share the things I am making, the ideas I am chasing, and the creative endeavors I am slowly releasing into the universe.

Lately, a lot of that energy has been going into two intertwined things: Particle Bunni and Discoastal.

Particle Bunni

For those who do not know, Particle Bunni is an ambient-electronic collaboration between multidisciplinary artist Terrance Stearns and myself.

At its core, it is an exploration. We blend electronic sound design, guitar, analog instruments, voice, and field recordings to create music that drifts somewhere between atmosphere, memory, mysticism, psychoacoustics, and digital folklore. Sometimes it feels cinematic. Sometimes meditative. Sometimes like a signal arriving from somewhere slightly outside of time.

Mostly, it is us following curiosity and seeing where it leads.

So far, we have released four albums, all of which are available on Bandcamp, Subvert, and major streaming platforms.

Discoastal

Discoastal is a little harder to explain because it is still evolving.

For a while, we called it Discoastal Culture Collective, but over time it became clear that “Discoastal” said enough. It feels less like a brand and more like a place. Or maybe a frequency.

Lately, this has been our best attempt at describing the feeling:

DISCOASTAL is a place that exists where the heart and the infinite meet. Like the coastline and the waves crashing on the beach. It is not a geographic location but a temporary autonomous zone where we explore creation as a dance, a conversation, a poem, a prayer, or a song. We have lit the beacon and transmitted the frequency, and now we know where to show up. See you there.

Right now, Discoastal is mostly taking shape on Patreon. We are slowly building a gathering place for music, art, ideas, and experimentation. Through sound, visuals, writing, and conversation, we are exploring what it means to make meaningful things and build creative culture during a strange and complicated time.

At the moment, we are releasing new Particle Bunni singles every week, Terry is sharing poetry, and we are beginning to open the door to the broader world we have been imagining.

For now, it is completely free. Maybe that changes someday, maybe it does not. At this stage, we mostly just want people to spend time with what we are making.

What Comes Next

Soon, we will be launching the Discoastal YouTube channel. Expect music, conversations with creative people, reflections on culture and making, some podcast experiments, and a look behind the curtain at how we create Particle Bunni music.

Honestly, we are still figuring it out as we go.

Thanks for reading.
